Bail bonds in Park City are posted a few miles south, in downtown Wichita. Park City sits along I-135 at the north edge of the metro area, inside Sedgwick County, and the county jail at 141 W Elm books people arrested there. A city charge then returns to Park City Municipal Court. A felony or a ticket from a trooper on I-135 goes to the Sedgwick County Courthouse. This page walks through the four steps from arrest to court and what the city’s court handles.
Case Bail Bonds is at 705 N Broadway in Wichita, three blocks from the jail and a short drive down I-135 from Park City. Call (316) 900-1667 at any hour.

4 steps after a Park City arrest

1. Booking at 141 W Elm
The Sedgwick County Sheriff states that the Adult Detention Facility books inmates for all Sedgwick County municipalities. That includes Park City Police arrests, Sheriff’s Office arrests and Highway Patrol arrests on I-135 and K-254.
2. Check the jail record
Search the name on the Sheriff’s inmate lookup. Our Sedgwick County inmate search page links to it. You will see:
- Each charge on its own line
- A bond amount for each line, which the Sheriff adds together for the total
- $0.00 where no bond is allowed, a judge ordered none, or several charges share one case number
If a line shows $0.00, read what no bond means in Sedgwick County before assuming the worst.
3. Post the bond
| Way | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Own recognizance | $0 | A Park City address is inside the metro area the Sheriff requires. The booking sergeant decides |
| Cash | The full amount | Refunded after the case, less fines and costs, if every court date is kept |
| Bondsman | At least 10% of the bond | Half of that minimum is due before posting |
| Bond | Minimum premium | Minimum due before posting |
|---|---|---|
| $500 | $50 | $25 |
| $1,000 | $100 | $50 |
| $3,000 | $300 | $150 |
| $10,000 | $1,000 | $500 |
The minimums come from K.S.A. 22-2809b. The full table is in how much a bond costs in Kansas. If the record says cash only, see cash only bonds in Sedgwick County.
On a city charge, K.S.A. 12-4213 requires bond to be set within 18 hours of custody. A person held 48 hours after a warrantless city arrest with no first appearance before a municipal judge must be released on personal recognizance.
4. Go to court
The bond paperwork names the court and the date. Do not guess. Park City Municipal Court and the Sedgwick County Courthouse are different buildings in different cities.
What does Park City Municipal Court handle?
The City of Park City describes its court this way. It hears alleged violations of city ordinances, and the city names four kinds as examples:
- Parking tickets
- Animal control cases
- Health ordinance violations
- Domestic violence cases
The court holds formal arraignments, trials and pre sentence investigations. It also offers:
| Program | What the city says |
|---|---|
| Diversion | Traffic and criminal diversion programs are available |
| Probation | Formal reporting probation for people convicted of serious offenses |
Dress code. The city asks for at least a shirt, pants or a skirt, and shoes. Shorts, tank tops and swimwear are not appropriate, and hats come off in the courtroom.
For the address, session days and the clerk’s phone number, use the city’s Municipal Court page linked in the sources below, and confirm your date before you go. A city court does not sit every day.
Domestic violence cases in a city court
Park City lists domestic violence among the cases its court hears, so it is worth spelling out how those work, because the rules are different from other bonds.
- Arrest is required when an officer finds probable cause. K.S.A. 22-2307 puts that in every Kansas agency’s policy.
- A cooling off period comes first. The Sheriff’s bond page says domestic violence bookings must serve a court ordered cooling off period before bonding, and that the period and the bond amount vary by municipality.
- No contact for at least 72 hours. K.S.A. 12-4301 puts that condition on municipal court bonds for charges that would be person offenses.
- A city conviction counts later. Under K.S.A. 21-5414, prior city convictions and diversions count toward a second or third domestic battery, and the third within five years is a felony.
Plan where the released person will stay before the bond is posted. It cannot be the shared home while the no contact condition is in force. More in domestic violence bail bonds in Wichita.
Which cases leave Park City?
| Case | Court |
|---|---|
| Park City Police ticket or city misdemeanor | Park City Municipal Court |
| Sheriff or Highway Patrol citation | Sedgwick County Courthouse, 525 N Main, Wichita |
| Any felony | Sedgwick County District Court, 525 N Main, Wichita |
The District Attorney’s traffic page gives the rule for county tickets: appear at the Sedgwick County Courthouse on the date on the ticket, and call 316-660-9150 with questions. For missed dates and suspended licenses, see traffic warrants in Wichita. For felonies, see felony bail bonds in Wichita.
Asking about diversion in Park City
Since the city offers both traffic and criminal diversion, ask about it at your first court date. A completed diversion keeps a conviction off your record. Keep three things in mind:
- A diversion is an agreement with conditions and fees. Get them in writing.
- Your bond stays in force until the case is closed, and so does your cosigner’s responsibility.
- State law limits repeats. Only one DUI diversion is allowed in a lifetime.
County cases have their own programs. See diversion in Sedgwick County.
If you miss court
A missed date can bring a bench warrant. A Park City warrant is handled with the Park City court, but it can be served at any traffic stop in Kansas, including on your way to work down I-135.
- Call the court clerk as soon as you realize it.
- Ask whether a warrant was issued and whether it has a bond amount.
- If it does, arrange the bond before you turn yourself in. See walk through bonds in Wichita.
